Good and Evil

So a real post today. We were talking about good and evil at church yesterday, and if God is the cause of both.

Well, today, during study hall, I was sitting in the library reading my Augustine book and I realized. How do we know what Good and Evil are? What if God just causes things to happen, but it is us who determine whether it is good or evil?

hmmmmm...

probably so many flaws in that.
please make them known to me.

true true.
i think what happens is if we find something is inconvenient or something bad happens to us, then we automatically deem the event bad. We don't care about the others, we don't even care if it was good for everyone else and it was just you that something went bad for, and that's because in the long run we only care about ourselves. Now even in events that seem tragic to everyone at the time can ultimately be good. one example that i can come up with mainly because this is what we've been talking about world history is the plague. Yes it killed off 1/3 of england's population but really it helped even out the population, gave people more food and gave everyone more space to live. If the population stayed the way it was growing then more conflict may have rose and something worst could have happened.

alright i think i'm venturing out from the topic so i'll end there.
